A peace talks meeting between the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Com­mittee-NSPNC and a delegation of the Restoration Council of Shan State-RCSS was held yes­terday morning at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Cen­tre in Nay Pyi Taw.

Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein, Sec­retary of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee-NSPNC and mem­bers, and RCSS Secretary 1 Sao Sai Ngin, Central Executive Committee member Sao Saung Han and Central Steering Com­mittee member Sao Sai Han at­tended the meeting.

During the meeting, both sides mutually discussed issues of the facts to be amended from the Constitution 2008, the imple­mentation of the points agreed upon in the previous discussions, the holding of a peace confer­ence, the peace and stability of the region, the annihilation of the narcotic drugs, development-re­lated matters and humanitarian assistance. The first day of the meeting was adjourned and it will continue on 12 July. — MNA/TS
