A meeting between the Nation­al Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee and seven NCA-signatory EAOs took place at the NSPNC cen­tre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

 

The meeting garnered the presence of esteemed individ­uals, including members of the State Administration Council, Union Minister for Home Af­fairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, and Lt- Gen Sein Win (Retd), a member of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Com­mittee. Additionally, Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein, members of the Negotiation Committee, and representatives of the Peace Process Steering Team (PPST) were in attendance. Among the ethnic armed group represent­atives were U Khun Okkar and U Myo Win of the PPST, Daw Saw Mra Raza Lin, Chair of the Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), Dr Naw Kapaw Htoo, Vice- Chair of the KNU/KNLA-Peace Council, Kyar Phoo, Vice-Chair of the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU), Khun Min Thein, Joint General Secretary-1 of the Pa-O National Liberation Organiza­tion (PNLO), Saw Kyaw Than Htay, Head of Relations Depart­ment of the Democratic Kay­in Benevolent Army (DKBA), Nai Nyi Nyi, second in-charge of Central Development De­partment from the New Mon State Party (NMSP), and Nang San Hpaung, Central Steering Committee member from the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS).

 

Dr Naw Kapaw Htoo, Vice- Chair of the KNU/KNLA-Peace Council, extended greetings on behalf of the ethnic armed groups participating in the meeting. Subsequently, the participants engaged in fruitful discussions on the forthcoming peace process, humanitarian initiatives in areas housing eth­nic armed organizations, and negotiations related to local development activities. Con­cluding the meeting, Chair Daw Saw Mra Raza Lin of the Ara­kan Liberation Party (ALP) and Union Minister for Home Af­fairs, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, shared their concluding remarks. — MNA/TS
