Myitkyina, 9 June

Officials from the Rural Road Development Department in Myitkyina Township, Kachin State, conducted a field visit this morning to inspect the completion of a newly constructed inter-village gravel road in Zakhun Village, Mawphong Village Tract.

The inspection team included U Win Oo, Deputy Director of the Kachin State Rural Development Department, and U Aung Myint Htun, Assistant Director of the Myitkyina District Rural Development Department. The officials examined the completed inter-village road connecting Zakhun and Malikha villages and met with local residents to emphasize the importance of quality construction and ongoing maintenance.

The gravel road, measuring 5 furlongs in length, 18 feet in width, and 1 foot 5 inches in thickness, was built by engineers from the Myitkyina Township Rural Development Department. Construction work began in the second week of January this year, and has now been completed in full.

The new road is expected to benefit approximately 6,553 residents, providing year-round access and improved transportation between the two villages.— Maung Khaing
