Secretary of the Shan State government U Nay Lin and officials along with senior citizens and voters who will be on duty on the Election Day cast their advance ballots yesterday morning in Taunggyi.


All the advance voters and polling station staff followed the guidelines of the COVID-19 prevention and control measures from the Ministry of Health and Sports with taking body temperature, providing hand sanitizers and distributing gloves and masks.


For the 2020 General Election, on 8 November, officials from Taunggyi township have arranged the advance voting of the senior citizens in Taunggyi and state’s employees, who will be on duty on the Election Day on 8 November, since 29 October.


There are 324,913 eligible voters in 245 constituencies of 75 village/ward tracts in Taunggyi Township. — Sai Than Kyaw (Taunggyi)
