An old shell, which is believed to be an artillery shell, was unearthed in Thazi town, Mandalay Region on December 24.
    

Employees from a private construction company found a 20 inch long and 13 inch diameter shell while they were digging up a ground foundation to build an indoor stadium in Ward-3 at around 1 p.m. yesterday. Policemen and security personnel rushed to the scene where the old bomb was found.
    

The shell was handed over to a military engineering regiment, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
