MUAY, kickboxing and traditional Lethwei competitions marking the Olympic Day were held at Theinbyu Gymnasium in Mingala Taungnyunt Township, Yangon, yesterday. The events were organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education and the respective sports federations.
In Muay competitions, Naing Aung Htoe defeated Banyar Ye; Tun Lin Aung beat Kaung Khant Kyaw; and Shin Htet overcame Ye Naing Tun, all on points.
In kickboxing, Saw Tha Mue defeated Aung Ko Ko Tun on points, Magyi Pin knocked out Ponnya Pyan in the second round, and Arkar Bo won against Aung Ko Latt on points.
In the Myanmar Fight traditional boxing contests, the bouts between Arkar Min and Lin Let Kyel, Myint Myat Maung and Sitt Hein, and Pho Khwar Si and Shwe Wun Yay all ended in draws after closely contested fights.
Prize presentations were made by officials from the Myanmar Muay Sports Federation, Myanmar Kickboxing Sports Federation and Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Sports Federation. — Bala/KZL
