Htigyaing, 19 May
One person was killed and 25 others slightly injured after a six-wheeled truck overturned in Htigyaing Township, Sagaing Region on 16 May, according to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
A six-wheeler truck with 26 people aboard driven by a man identified as Phoe Toke (aka) Ah Naung, 30 years old flipped over between mileposts 12/1 and 12/2 on the Kawlin-Htigyaing Road near Tawmay Village at around 8:30 p.m. on 16 May after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The driver fled the scene of the accident but one woman died on the spot and 25 others were hurt.
The injured people have been admitted to a nearby public hospital. A probe has been launched to investigate into the case by the police.—MOHA
