Kyauktaga, 21 December

A 38-year-old woman was killed in the fatal blaze which broke out at about 11:00 pm on 19 December in the house of U Thein Myint Tun of Thahtaygon Village in Kyauktaga Township, Bago Region.

The fire was believed to have started from overheated battery which was charging at the ground floor of the house. U Thein Myint Tun and his seven children were escaped from the fire after fire broke out. But their mother, identified as Daw Rajawanthi was died in the fire for smoke inhalation. 

15 firefighters from the Township department of Fire Services Department rushed to the incident scene to put out the fire in collaboration with 50 villagers using three fire engines and the blaze was completely extinguished at 11:30 pm.

The authorities pressed charges against U Thein Myint Tun for his negligence.—Khin Ko(Kyauktaga)
