A man was killed and one other injured in an explosion at Theinbyu Shipyard in Botahtaung Township in Yangon on August 8.
    

The blast occurred when a group of workers from Upland Shipbuilding Company led by Tun Tun Oo, 46, from Hlaingthayar Township were painting a ship which is under construction. The cause of explosion was attributed to the overheated painted thinner. A 35-year old employee named Naing Lin Tun from Thanlyan Township died on the spot and his colleague Tun Tun, 35 sustained injuries in the blast.
    

In connection with the explosion, Tun Tun Oo has been taken action by the police over fire negligence.
