AA insurgents attacked policemen on board a boat in Kardi Creek in Yathedaung Township, Rakhine State, yesterday evening, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
One policeman was reported missing after the attack.
About 6.20 p.m. yesterday, a large boat carrying AA insurgents came across a boat with 14 policemen on board, following which the insurgents opened fire. The police officials were on their way to the Nyaungchaung regional office.
The police boat sank, along with three pieces of arms, after being crashed against by the insurgents’ boat.
One policeman was reported injured and missing after the attack. The remaining officials were not injured in the attack.
