In commemoration of the 74th anniversary of Myanmar Independence Day, a ceremony to open a new bridge was held in Yegyi Township, Ayeyarwady Region this morning.
Under the instruction of the regional government and the supervision of the Township Development Committee, a new bridge, identified as Meiktila Bridge was constructed in Yegyi Township with regional budget.
Chief Minister of the Ayeyarwady Government U Tin Maung Win, the Region Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Kyaw Swa Hlaing and the Region Minister for roads and communication Police Major Tin Zaw Tun attended the ceremony and cut the ceremonial ribbon to formerly open the bridge. Then, official sprinkled the scented water on its signboard and looked round the bridge.
The reinforced concrete bridge measuring 60 ft. in length, 30 ft. in width, 22 ft. in height was built by a private tender winning company with Ks. 224.55 million allotted by regional government in the fiscal year 2020-2021. Construction works of the bridge started on 3 June this year and has been completed by 100 percent.—Aung Thu Han(IPRD)
