Over 2,300 micro industries officially registered in regions and states

The Small Scale Industries Department, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, is presently overseeing the registration process for 13 types of micro industries in regions and states, including the Nay Pyi Taw council area. Currently, 81 per cent of these registrations have been successfully completed.

From April to March of the 2023-2024 financial year, 2,890 registrations were planned, and currently, 2,380 of them have been completed. The 13 types of businesses include foodstuffs, clothing, accommodation consumer goods, household goods, printed materials, raw materials, minerals, agricultural machinery, transportation, electronics, and general industrial activities.

Entrepreneurs can be recognized as MSME members by registering and receiving technical assistance from the Department of Small Scale Industries. They can form similar groups with the same nature of business. Additionally, they have opportunities to receive loan support from the State to expand their business, attend local and international workshops, trainings, and exhibitions, and participate in competitions. — TWA/KZW
