Pwintbyu 16 June

Over 3,000 acres of sesame have been cultivated in Pwintbyu Township during monsoon season, according to Pwintbyu Township Department of Agriculture. The Township is estimated to grow 24,720 acres of sesame and now it has been planted 3,116 acres of sesame starting from the first week of June.

The departmental officials cooperate with the farmers to educate them on agricultural methods, to ensure the proper choice of good varieties, to increase production rate and to protect the risks of insects. The higher production rate of sesame will help to ensure local edible oil security and to export other countries.
