THE 2026 matriculation exam commenced yesterday in Man­dalay Region, with 45,635 out of 47,549 students who applied to take the exam, representing a participation rate of 95.97 per cent. The region has 108 exam centres in 25 townships.

 

Deputy Director-General Dr Soe Myint Tun of the Man­dalay Region Education Officer Office stated that “a total of 339 students from six Industrial, agricultural and livestock cen­tres sat for the exam. Arrange­ments are made to ensure ac­cess to electricity during the exam period and to facilitate transport. Under the leadership of the regional government, measures have been taken for all students to take the exam peacefully and comfortably.” He also made wishes for the students to win the distinctions.

 

At the 108 exam centres, each is staffed with a super­visor, a joint supervisor, and an assistant supervisor. Each exam room accommodates 30 examinees, and additional cen­tres are set up at Mandalay General Hospital and Mandalay Central Prison.

 

Daw Chaw Su Lwin, su­pervisor at No 16 BEHS, said, “There are 789 students at our exam centre. 92 teachers are assigned as proctors for exam rooms.” She also made wishes for the students and highlighted the arrangements conducted by the regional authorities.

 

Student Mg Thiha Tun said, “I am quite nervous about the exam, but I studied well. Our teachers taught us thoroughly, and I am very grateful to them for that. I hope I will be able to do my best in the exam.”

 

Another student, Ma Nadi Hlaing Tun, said, “Teachers taught us well, and I also stud­ied daily. Even though I am ex­cited, I have confidence that I will do well. I aim to achieve six distinctions, and I will try to be a doctor as my parents desire.”
