Altogether 62 illegal Myanmar migrant workers—46 men and 16 women who worked illegally in Thailand were handed over by Thai authorities to their Myanmar counterparts this afternoon at No 2 Myanmar-Tachilek Frienship Bridge in Tachilek, Shan State.

 

Myanmar migrant workers, who were without proper documents in Thailand, handed over by Thai authorities were accepted by Myanmar departmental officials and local authorities of relevant departments.

 

The returnee workers were sent to their places of origin after being provided with health care by the help of the Township General Administration Department, Labor, Immigration and Population Department, Anti-Human Trafficking Squad of Myanmar Police Force, Department of Labor, Caring and Negotiating Committee for Myanmar Citizens in Mae Sai, Thailand (CNCMC).

 

Altogether 562 illegal Myanmar migrants workers—359 male, 183 female and 20 children—were handed over by Thailand to Myanmar between January 1 and April 6 this year.—Sai Aung Zaw Lin
