More than K 5.7 billion worth of drugs was seized in Tachilek Township of Shan State, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined inspection team comprising members of Anti-Drug Police Force raided the house of Kyankya Ann in Winkyauk Ward in the town of Tachilek at 5:00 pm on December 14, and seized 141 kg of ICE (methamphetamine), 23 kg of ketamine and 128,000 ecstasy pills in the house.
As a result of investigation, the inspection team raided the house of Twam Laung Phu, the owner of drugs, in Sansai Ward in Tachilek town, and apprehended Twan Laung Phu and Twam Shi Khuan along with 2 kg of Happy Water, 16,000 Happy-5 tablets and 9 kg of ecstasy powder at 5:30 pm on the same day.
The culprits have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators of the crime chain. — MNA
