A ceremony to recite Parittas was held at the Pyithu Hluttaw building-C in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday to mark the New Year Day.

It was attended by the Members of the Sangha led by Ashin Tejo Sara, Presiding Sayadaw of the Raja Dhani Monastery in Ottarathiri Township.

First, the congregation received the Five Precepts from the Sayadaw.

Afterwards, the Members of the Sangha recited Parittas and the congregation presented offertories to the Members of the Sangha and shared the merits gained.

Also present at the ceremony were Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Ti Khun Myat, Deputy Speaker U Tun Aung (a) U Tun Tun Hein and staff families of the Pyithu Hluttaw Office.—MNA (Translated by GNLM)
