With the aim of enhancing the productivity of crops, achieving the target yields of crops and increasing the income of local farmers in Paungde Township, Nattalin District of Bago Region, the Township Agriculture Department have allocated to grow 90,000 acres of varieties of crops this winter but local farmers have cultivated only 65,000 acres so far, according to the Township Survey Department.
In order to achieve high yield of winter crops and increase the income of local farmers, officials from the Township Agriculture Department are making field trips and providing farmers with necessary assistance in line with the guidance of the government.
Apart from ground nut, winter sesame and sunflower, farmers have designated to grow 68457 acres of winter crops including, chick pea, green gram, corns, cotton, vegetables, chili, onion in the entire township and now, efforts are being made to meet the target areas.—Shwe Tha(IPRD)
