TO prepare citizens for national defence and security duties, eligible citizens have arrived at various regional military commands across the country to participate in the People’s Military Service Training Course 8. The opening ceremonies for this training course were held yesterday at each training depot, where the school commandants delivered speeches.
The ceremonies saw the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, chief ministers from states and regions, commanders of military commands and other officials who met with the trainees, presenting them with awards while offering their encouragement and best wishes for the trainees.
As part of efforts to maintain national unity, prevent disintegration, and preserve stability, all citizens are responsible for upholding these duties. The People’s Military Service Law, established on 10 February 2024, aims to train citizens to serve in national defence and security roles.
The first course of this training officially began on 8 April 2024, and graduates are currently serving in various military units, contributing to the nation’s defence efforts.
