Poem reciting competition marks 73rd Union Day

In commemoration of the 73rd Union Day, a poem reciting competition was held in combination with a painting contest at the community center run by the township Information and Public Relations Department in Kawhmu township, Yangon region yesterday.

 

At the event, U Ye Naung Chit, head of the township IPRD said that the competitions are designed to introduce schoolchildren to the practice of using library. Then, schoolchildren from Basic Education Primary School ( Myothit) entered the poem reciting competition, reciting the poem titled “21st Century Panglong” by Dr. Aye Min, while other schoolchildren participated in the painting contest.

 

Assistant Director Daw Kyi Kyi Khaing and officials presented first, second, third prizes to those who stood first, second and third in the competitions.—Kyaw Thura (Kawhmu)
