Ngaphe, February 13

Ngaphe Township Information and Public Relations Department opened a poem-writing course in cooperation with a local book club at the community centre in the town of Ngaphe, Minbu district, Magway region this morning. The course aims to help the schoolchildren to cherish Myanmar literature and to improve their knowledge and to be able to compose Myanmar poems.

At the event, the township IPRD head Daw Yu Yu Thein explained the aim of the course. Then, course instructor U Than Tint, a member of the book club discussed the basic principles of a poem which a poem composer must know. He also urged the trainees to study the subject carefully and to raise questions about what they don’t understand.

A total of 30 grade 7 students from basic education high school in the town signed up for the course which runs from 13 to 14 February.—Ma Yu (Ngaphe)
