Illegal raw jade stones were seized this morning during a search operation on Swebo-Myitkyina Road near Nankin Village, Indaw Township, Sagaing Region. 

Acting on a tip-off, local policemen led by Police Capt. Thet Tin Oo from Indaw Myoma Police Station with witnesses searched a vehicle and seized 193 illegal raw jade stones weighing 1034 kilograms in the car.

The driver, identified as Ko Ko Oo from Madalay has been charged with transporting illegal raw jade stones under the Myanmar Gemstone Law.—Ni Toe (Katha)
