Kalaw, 31 October

A combined squad led by Police Major Aung Myo Lwin annihilated poppy fields in Kalaw Township, Southern Shan State from 20 to 30 October.

Local anti-drug teams in cooperation with departmental officials and residents destroyed 9 acres of poppy plantations near Myaungchauk and Kyauksauuk Villages in Kalaw Township during the period from 29 to 30 October.

The Myanmar Police Force has been stepping up campaigns to destroy poppy cultivation throughout the country in cooperation with people, local authorities and civil society organizations.
