Indaw, 13 March

           

Local police seized drugs and a homemade gun in a house raid in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region on Tuesday.

           

A police squad led by the commander of the Mawtaik police station Police Inspector Soe Naing Aung raided the hut of a suspected drug suspect identified as Hla Aung near Ngapyaeinn Village, Indaw Township at around 7:15 p.m. on 12 March. The search operation was conducted under the close supervision of the head of the township police force Police Major Khin Maung Thin based on a anonymous tipoff.

           

The police found the drug suspect and his colleague named Aung Kyi Win with 0.5 grams of heroin, 12 stimulant tablets and paraphernalia along with a percussion lock firearm measuring 3 ft. and 6 inch in length inside the hut. The two suspects have been charged with possession of drugs and weapon by the local police station.—Lu Aung (Katha)
