Six guns and pellets were seized in a search operation in Thingannyinaung checkpoint, Myawady Township in Kayin State yesterday.
A combined squad performing law enforcement activities intercepted a car with five people aboard at a checkpoint in Thingannyinaung Town at about 5:45 p.m. on 7 April. The search operation of the joint team has led to the discovery of four pistols worth Baht 10,600, four magazines, two guns valued at Baht 8,800, two magazines and three packets of pellets in the car.
According to initial investigation, the driver identified as Min Naing Tun, 39 years old man from Myawady Township working in Thailand as a supervisor in rubber factory confessed that he brought the weapons from Bangkok. He has been charged with possession of guns by the local police station.—Min Thu (Hpa-an)
