Police force destroyed some poppy fields in Pinlaung and Hsiseng Townships in Southern Shan State on 18 November.

A police squad led by the head of the township police force eradicated 34 acres of poppy plantations about three miles northwest of Taungkalay Village, Pinlaung Township. Similarly, a combined team headed by the deputy head of the township police force destroyed nearly 12 acres of poppy plantations about one mile south of Donpinnyo Village, Hsiseng Township.

Departmental officials, members of social organizations and local people were involved in the activity.—MNA
