A ceremony to provide poppy-substitute crops and chemical fertilizer to farmers in Kunlong Township, Shan State (North) was held at the Department of Agriculture this morning.

First, Township Administrator U Aung Kyaw Zeya gave opening remarks and an official from the Department of Agriculture clarified the procedures that have been providing poppy-substitute crops. 

Then the officials provided poppy-substitute crops to farmers in Namhuu, Kaungkyae, Pansamnam and Yelalekyun villages and one of the farmers also expressed words of thanks to the officials. Next, an official from the Department of Agriculture also clarified the methods of planting to the farmers and responded to the queries raised by them. IPRD
