The course curriculum was updated to meet international standards through the collaborative efforts of relevant surgical specialists. Medical experts from the international community were invited to the workshop with the aim of improving the capacity and skills of orthopaedic specialists of the Tatmadaw in flap surgery in combat medical care which is of great importance in the combat medical care measures and improving the medical standard of the Defence Services Medical Corps.

The 30th Myanmar Tatmadaw Medical Conference will take place at the No 1 Military Hospital (700-bed) in PyinOoLwin from 3 to 5 October 2023. At the pre-conference, local and international experienced professors will hold a talk show on flap surgery in combat medical care techniques and theories with the use of silent mentors, and such a talk will be broadcast live online as part of holding a webinar for orthopaedicians.

The workshop aims to create chances for postgraduate students from the medical universities under the Ministry of Health and Tatmadaw Medical Corps to directly learn orthopaedic surgical knowledge from military and civilian physicians and experts at home and abroad with the use of silent mentors to have greater experiences in the flap surgery in combat medical care realm. — MNA/TTA
