PRC President Mr Xi Jinping lands in Nay Pyi Taw

At the invitation of President U Win Myint and First Lady Daw Cho Cho, the President of the People’s Republic of China Mr Xi Jinping and delegation arrived on an official State Visit to Myanmar and landed in Nay Pyi Taw a 12:55 p.m. yesterday.

The Chinese President was first welcomed onboard his special flight by Director-General U Min Thein of the Protocol Department and Chinese Ambassador Mr Chen Hai.

He was then welcomed at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport by Vice President U Myint Swe, Union Ministers Thura U Aung Ko, U Win Khaing and U Thaung Tun, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr Myo Aung, Communist Party Secretary of Yunnan Province Mr Chen Hao, Myanmar Ambassador to China U Myo Thant Pe, Permanent Secretary U Soe Han of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other officials. In addition, the Chinese President and delegation were welcomed with a Guard of Honour and ethnic dance troupes at the airport and by students holding up flags of Myanmar and China along the road from the airport.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
