The Nay Pyi Taw Christian Church of Myanmar in Pyinmana Township organized a worship service via videoconferencing ahead of Christmas yesterday.
Dr Shwe Hluan, the wife of Vice-President U Henry Van Thio, and Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko extended Christmas greetings at the event.
Heads of Christian churches delivered remarks on the special pre-worship services to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.
In making the speech, Union Minister Thura U Aung Ko expressed his appreciation for the prayers of Christians in line with the wishes of Jesus Christ for loving-kindness and peace of the world.
He also highlighted the fundamental needs of mutual understanding, magnanimity and forgiveness for peaceful coexistence among people from different faiths.
The Union Minister made wishes of ‘Happy Christmas’ and overcoming COVID-19 crisis.
The event was concluded with prayers, bible reading and Christmas carols.
