With the aims of greening environment and reducing climate change, the Dry Zone Greening Department is distributing saplings of shady trees to departments, social organizations and those who want to plant.
Now, a pre-monsoon tree-planting ceremony was held at Monywa University in Sagaing Region on May 16. At the ceremony, Sagaing Region Chief Minister, Regional Ministers, departmental personnel, teachers, members of social organizations, totaling 320 people planted a total of 718 saplings of shady trees, according to the Regional Dry Zone Greening Department.
In the region, a total of 142850 saplings of shady trees will be planted during the monsoon season.
