President U Win Myint and First Lady Daw Cho Cho attended the celebration of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 74th birthday, held in the Hluttaw Hall I-12 in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.


Other important figures attending the event included former President U Htin Kyaw and wife Daw Su Su Lwin, Vice President U Henry Van Thio and wife Dr. Shwe Hlwan, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat and wife Daw Yin May, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than and wife Daw Nant Kyin Kyi, Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Tun Tun Hein and wife Dr. Sein Sein Thein, and Union Minister U Min Thu from the Office of the Union Government, Peace Commission Chairman Dr. Tin Myo Win, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr. Myo Aung and their wives.

Attendees cordially welcomed the State Counsellor as she arrived at the Hluttaw Hall and extended their wishes for her birthday.

 

The State Counsellor first delivered the opening greeting, then sliced the birthday cakes and distributed them to the guests. She then hosted a luncheon for the guests and released doves as an act of charity on her 74th birthday.

 

Afterwards, the State Counsellor visited her birthday commemorations held at the President’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Office of the State Counsellor and Ministry of Office of the Union Government. There, she distributed her birthday cakes to the attendees as they made birthday wishes for her. —MNA
