President U Win Myint received a delegation from the People’s Republic of China led by State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of PRC Mr. Wang Yi at the Credentials Hall of the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw at 4.30 pm yesterday.
At the call, cordial discussions centered on further promotion of Myanmar-China friendly relations and cooperation, broader bilateral cooperation in the development programs of both countries based on the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, holding of the 70th anniversary diplomatic relations between the two countries which falls in 2020 on a grand-scale, relaxation of trade policies in the interest of the peoples of both countries, increase in volume and number of items in bilateral trade, greater effectiveness in implementing the projects in connection with Myanmar-China economic corridor and border cooperation zone under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and closer bilateral cooperation in regional and global affairs.
Also present at the call were Union Ministers U Thaung Tun, U Han Zaw and U Kyaw Tin, Deputy Minister U Aung Htoo and officials. The Chinese Foreign Minister was accompanied by the vice foreign minister, the Chinese ambassador, and high-level officials.—MNA (Translated by TMT)
