THE Myanmar Medical Council has to emphasize proper devel­opment of private health sector, said Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win at the My­anmar Medical Council Execu­tive Committee Meeting 1/2025, at the Department of Medical Research in Yangon yesterday.

 

He emphasized that private health services need to ensure that people receive quality, effec­tive, and safe healthcare.

 

The Union Minister stated that as the current executive committee of the Myanmar Medical Council is about to complete its second four-year term, new executive members will be elected for the third term in the near future. Therefore, it is important to carefully select individuals who can serve the interests of the medical pro­fession in accordance with the Myanmar Medical Council Law. The Myanmar Medical Council is an important organization for monitoring and maintaining the ethics and rules of doctors.

 

Then, Professor Dr Khin Maung Aye, President of the Myanmar Medical Council, explained the activities of the Myanmar Medical Council Ex­ecutive Committee during its second four-year term and pro­vided an update on the process of selecting executives for the third four-year term.

 

Afterwards, the Patron of the Myanmar Medical Council, Dr S Kyaw Hla, and the execu­tive members discussed their work and activities, while the Union Minister and the patrons coordinated the matters. — MNA/TH
