Public awareness of the benefits of wearing life jackets was increased by officials from District Fire Services Department yesterday.

The officials urged passengers who use vessels to travel one place to another place to wear lifejackets for the safety of them because flooding, flash-flood, gusty winds and storms usually fall in monsoon season. In addition, pamphlets on the dangers of natural disasters were disseminated to the public.
