The public talks titled “Youth and Scourge of Narcotic Drugs” were conducted this morning at the hall of Township General Administration Department in Thandaung, Hpa-an District, Kayin State. 

First of all, the Township Administrator U Kyaw Ko Ko Win delivered an opening speech and staff officer of the Township Information and Public Relations Department Daw Naw Law Mu clarified the purpose of the talks.

Also present on the occasion were staff officer of Township Information and Public Relations Department Daw Naw Law Mu, Phithu Hluttaw Representative U Saw Victor Khalaik, Township Administrator U Kyaw Kyaw Ko Ko Win, senior nurse of Thandaung Public Hospital Daw Naw Ma The, Police Inspector Tin Aung San Tun from Tandaung Police.

At the discussions, work processes of the government to eradicate scourge of drugs, impact of drug abuse on health, actions and penalties applied, boosting sports for youth to avoid using drugs, opening libraries to improve knowledge of youth were discussed.

Afterwards, relevant officials answered queries raised by those present on the occasion.—Township IPRD
