A ceremony to inaugurate Punchaung Bridge on Kyuntaung-Kyauktalongyi-Naungyasine-Saikkaung-Punchaung-Mawkmai Road between Mawkmai and Hsi Hseng Townships in Langkho District, Shan State (South) was held yesterday morning.

At the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Lin Htut gave opening remarks and an official from the State Department of Road Management clarified the salient points of the construction. After that, on behalf of local residents U Khun Hla Tun also spoke words of thanks to the officials.

Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Lin Htut, State Minister for Road and Communication U Khun Ye Htwe, Chairman of Pa’O Self-Administered Zone U Khun San Lwin, MPs U Khun Than Htoo of Hsi Hseng Township Pyithu Hluttaw and MP U Sai Naung Sai Hein of Mawkmai Township Pyithu Hluttaw cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the bridge. Following that, they also sprinkled the scented water on the stone inscription. 

The occasion was attended by the Shan State Chief Minister, State Ministers, MPs of Hluttaw, departmental personnel, District and Township Administrators and local community leaders.
