The tenth-day meeting of the Second Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s 14th regular session was held at the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw meeting hall yesterday morning where Hluttaw representatives discussed a report of Joint Committee on Scrutinizing the Constitution and Myanmar conceding to International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention concerning Minimum Age for Admission to Employment C 138.
Joint Bill Committee reports on Basic Education Bill and Bill amending Farmland Law were also read at the Hluttaw meeting.
Report of Joint Committee on Scrutinizing the Constitution
The meeting started with Hluttaw representatives discussing a report of Joint Committee on Scrutinizing the a bill amending the Constitution for the second time signed and submitted by 144 Tatmadaw Hluttaw representatives including Amyotha Hluttaw Tatmadaw representative Brig-Gen Aung San Chit.
The matter was discussed by Tatmadaw Amyotha Hluttaw representative Major Win Lwin Oo, U Myat Lay Oo of Htilin constituency, Tatmadaw Amyotha Hluttaw representative Colonel Kaung Kyaw, Tatmadaw Amyotha Hluttaw representative Major Zaw Win Oo, Dr U Kywe Kywe of Mandalay Region constituency 6, U Htay Oo of Yangon Region constituency 2 and Tatmadaw Amyotha Hluttaw representative Lt-Col Tin Tun Aung.
Joint Bill Committee reports read
Next, Joint Bill Committee reports on Basic Education Bill sent with comments by the President and Bill amending Farmland Law in which the two Hluttaws were in disagreement were read by committee secretary U Kyaw Soe Lin and committee member U Zaw Win respectively.
After each report was read and submitted, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker announced for Hluttaw representatives who want to table amendment motions to register their names.
Hluttaw discusses Myanmar acceding to ILO Convention C138
Afterwards, Hluttaw representatives discusses the matter of Myanmar acceding to International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention concerning Minimum Age for Admission to Employment C 138 sent by the President.
The matter was discussed by Daw Hla Htay @ Daw Ohn Kyi of Mandalay Region constituency 4, U Khin Cho of Hlaingbwe constituency, U Maung Maung Ohn of Ayeyawady Region constituency 5, Dr Tin Tin Win of Bago Region constituency 5, Dr Win Myint Chit of Bago Region constituency 8, U Nay Kyaw of Dagon Myothit (East) constituency, U KyintKhant Pau of Chin State constituency 6, U Myint Thein of Wetlet constituency, Daw Shwe Shwe Sein Latt of Bago Region constituency 3, U Tin Aung Tun of Magway Region constituency 5, U Maung Myint of Mingin constituency, U San Myint of Ayeyawady Region constituency 3, Dr Khin Soe Soe Kyi of Pyay constituency, U Kyaw Thaung of Sagaing Region constituency 1 and U Khin Zaw of Kawthoung constituency.
In his discussion, Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population U Thein Swe spoke of noting the discussions and suggestions of the Hluttaw representatives and pledges to abide by and implement it where necessary. Later, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker sought the decision of the Hluttaw and announced the Hluttaw’s approval of the matter.
