The Pyithu Hluttaw office held its seventh Waso Robe offering ceremony in the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The ceremony was graced by Sayadaws and Sanghas led by Mahawithutarama Zaygone Monastery of Pyinmana, State Ovadacariya Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Agga Maha Pandita Agga Mahaganthavacakapandita Sasanadhaja Siripawaradhammacariya Bhaddanta Kawithara. First, the congregation received the five precepts delivered by the Mahawithutarama Zaygone Monastery Sayadaw. Then the Sanghas recited Parittas discourses (Sutta to ward off harm) and Kamawa (selection from the sacred Pali texts). Following this, the reverend monks were offered Waso robes and other offertories, after which merits of the deeds were shared.
Also present at the ceremony were Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat, Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Tun Tun Hein and family members of the Pyithu Hluttaw’s office. — MNA
