Pyu Township, located in Taungoo District, Bago Region, has set a plan to grow 17,389 acres of summer paddy in 2025. As of now, 15,012 acres have already been planted, according to the Township Agriculture Supervision Committee.

In Phyu Township, the designated areas for summer paddy cultivation include 409 acres using lake water, 2,831 acres with brook water, and 14,149 acres with irrigation water. The main varieties of paddy grown in the township are Sinthukha, Day 90, Chaungkauk, Yadanar Toe, Vietnam, and YSR1.

Additionally, the Department of Agriculture is collaborating with farmers to address the requirements of the target area, including providing access to water, seeds, and other necessary inputs.— Nay Myo Lwin (IPRD)
