Continuous and heavy rainfall, accompanied by strong winds, on Sunday morning caused considerable damage in the wards and village-tracts of Kawthoung Township, Taninthayi Region, and triggered a landslide in the township. The number of casualties could not be confirmed.

Bridges and trees collapsed, roofs were destroyed, and five houses were damaged in the landslide. Officials from the Township and Ward Administration departments inspected disaster-hit areas. The Natural Disaster Management Department shifted victims to safer areas and provided them aid.
