Yebyu 13 August

The floor of a reinforced concrete bridge on an inter-village road in Yebyu Township, Taninthayi Region was badly damaged by floodwaters following heavy rains in the area on 9 August.

Some parts of Yebyu Township have been inundated as a consequence of incessant severe rains that hit the area for many days. The flooding destroyed a rural bridge measuring 20 ft. in length, leading to temporary shutdown of transportation in the township.

In an attempt to facilitate better transportation in the township, the Department of Road under the Ministry of Construction has built a 30 ft. long Bailey bridge to replace the old one on 12 August.—IPRD
