Balke, 29 April
Some villages in Balke townships are facing scarcity of water as the temperature of the township reached 44 degree Celsius this year, higher than last year’s 42 degree Celsius.
Staff from Balke Township Rural Development Department went to Buku village two times with two water trucks, each truck with a capacity of 600 gallons, and donated 2400 gallons of drinking water to the village which has 51 houses with a population of 262.
Then, RDD staff went to Dawsaeku village and donated 1200 gallons of drinking water to the village that has 49 houses and a population of 221. Residents in villages of Balke Township were asked to report to RDD staff if their villages face scarcity of drinking water due to high temperature.—Ko Sai ( Loikaw)
