The Royal Thai Armed Forces Day reception was held yester­day evening at Novotel Hotel on Pyay Road, Yangon.

Lt-Gen Thet Pon and wife from the Office of the Com­mander-in-Chief (Army), Yan­gon Command Commander Maj-Gen Nyunt Win Swe and wife, high-ranking military of­ficers, ambassadors from foreign embassies in Yangon, charges d’affaires, military attaches and guests attended the ceremony.

First, Lt-Gen Thet Pon and his wife, high-ranking military of­ficers and guests were welcomed by Mr Mongkol Visitstump, Am­bassador of Thailand to Myan­mar and military attachés (Army, Navy, Air) and officials.

Afterwards, the reception was opened with national an­thems of the Republic of the Un­ion of Myanmar and Thailand. The ambassador gave a welcom­ing speech followed by the com­memorative video of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day. Then, Thai Ambassador Mr Mongkol Visitstump, Lt-Gen Thet Pon and the military attaché cut the Roy­al Thai Armed Forces Day cake and took documentary group photos with guests. Then, the honorary dinner was hosted by the Thai ambassador and mili­tary attaches.- MNA/ TS
