A group of local lawmakers inspected construction of a retaining wall in Kanni Village, Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region on 3 March.

The riverbank protection project is being carried out in Kanni Village, Myingyan Township with Ks. 90 million allotted by the regional government in the fiscal year 2018-2019. The project is being implemented by the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems under the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

 

Accompanied by Chairperson of the regional parliament’s industry, energy and electricity affairs committee U Hlaing Win, regional MPs U Khin Maung Aye and U Chan Myae, Deputy Commissioner U Tint Hlaing, and Township Administrator U Nyi Nyi Aung, Speaker of the Mandalay Regional Parliament U Aung Kyaw Oo visited the construction site where he called on timely completion of the project, highlighting worksite safety and use of quality products on a prioritized basis.

 

The project is 50 percent completed and arrangement is being made by local officials to finish on a timely manner.—Zaw Min Naing (Myingyan)
