COORDINATED rehabilitation efforts involving various organizations and local communities continue at full strength across the affected regions, following the powerful Mandalay earthquake that caused widespread destruction.

Yesterday, Lt-Gen Thet Pon from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), along with responsible officials, visited several religious buildings in Sagaing that had sustained damage. The team inspected damage to residential buildings, monasteries, and pagodas, and coordinated with relevant authorities to help maintain a clean and orderly urban environment. They also provided refreshments to the workers and discussed necessary support with the responsible personnel.

Similarly, Lt-Gen Soe Tint Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and his team visited the Sky Villa area, as well as Aungmyaythazan and Mahaaungmyay Townships in Mandalay, where earthquake-damaged structures remain. They observed the use of heavy machinery to clear Building A and inspected the process of sorting and returning recovered materials to their rightful owners through official channels. — MNA/MKKS
