A ceremony to provide cash aid and relief items to fire victim was held at the meeting room of the township General Administration Department in the town of Tedim, Chin State yesterday afternoon.

Officials from the township Department of Disaster Management under Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement provided K 300000 to U Khai Khan Kim who died in the fire, and K 6300 for purchasing rice and rescue kit box with 16 items to the remaining three family members, according to the township Department of Disaster Management.

Fire broke out on 20 December in the home of Dr. Kam Cin Dal (retired) in the town of Khaikam. The fire was thought to have started from overheated power inverter in the house.
