A ceremony to offer the reli­gious titles for 2023 was held at Anndawshin Hilly Region Missionary Monastery in My­itkyina in Kachin State yester­day morning. The ceremony was honoured by State Sangha Nayaka Committee Secretary Dhamma Rekkhita Wuntho Monastery Bhaddanta Ketu­mala and the senior Buddhist monks, the title recipient monks and the senior nuns.

State Administration Coun­cil Member Daw Dwe Bu, Un­ion Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nang, Northern Com­mand Commander Maj-Gen Ko Ko Maung, and officials offered the day meal to the Sayadaws.

A title conferee Sayad­aw delivered Sammo Daniya Ovada Katha whereas State Minister for Social Affairs U Win Ye Tun supplicated reli­gious affairs. Next, the State Chief Minister, the Commander and the responsible personnel offered Maha Saddhamma Jo­tikadhaja, Ganthavacaka Pan­dita, Saddhamma Jotikadhaja titles and insignia to the Sayad­aws and nuns.

Afterwards, the Buddhist monks and the nuns were of­fered the dry ration by the Chief Minister and wife, the Com­mander and wife, the depart­mental officials concerned and well-wishers.—MNA /KMA
