The University of Medi­cine 2 (Yangon) of the Min­istry of Health and Niigata University of Japan inked a five-year memorandum of understanding (agreement for cooperation) extension yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Dr Tin Tun, Director-Gen­eral of the Human Resourc­es Department for Health, the rector of Yangon Uni­versity of Medicine 2, heads of departments from the Department of Human Resources for Health and Professor Reiko Saito from Niigata University, Division of International Health, and officials.

 

The director-general of the Department of Human Resources for Health gave an opening speech express­ing his happiness over the previous cooperation be­tween the two universities and the continued collab­oration, and representa­tives of the two universities signed the agreement.

 

According to the mem­orandum of understand­ing, Yangon University of Medicine 2 and Niigata University will mainly co­operate in research activi­ties, sending teaching staff and students to each other and continuing cooperation in educational discussions and other academic fields. — MNA/TS
