Situated near the Kumudra Lotus Roundabout on Yazathingaha Road in Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, the National Museum – one of only two such museums in Myanmar – spans 34.79 acres with five buildings, having begun construction on 3 June 2010 before officially opening on 15 July 2015.
The National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) reopened Halls A, B, C, and D on 10 March following extensive renovations to repair damage caused by the Mandalay earthquake. To mark the reopening, the museum is offering free admission to both domestic and international visitors from 10 to 12 March.
With the completion of works on Halls A and B, seven galleries will now be open to the public from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm daily, except on Mondays and public holidays. Following the initial free-entry period, admission fees are set at K1,000 for Myanmar nationals and K10,000 for foreign visitors. Entry is free for monks, nuns, and students.
